Tuesday - Focus Question How many animals can you think of that live in a desert?, Go over Requirements of Desert Animal Project,  Students will draw for desert animals, Journal  (October 29)  Summary and Article - use Daily Press (thesis, two factual sentences, data sentence, opinion sentence, conclusion)
Wednesday - Focus - CNN.Student News, Research Lab C (Desert Animal Project)
Thursday  - Research Lab C (Desert Animal Project)
Friday - Focus - How many major world religions can you name?  Powerpoint - Major Religions
Homework - put final touches on your Desert Animal Project (Due Monday)

Monday - Focus - Study for climate region quiz, take Climate Zone Quiz, work on Climate Region Map
Tuesday - Focus watch Weather and Climate (discovery education.com 19 minutes), finish Climate Region Map (test grade 20 points)
Wednesday Focus - Watch short youtube clip - Climate and Climate Regions (6 minutes), Climate Region Maps due,  I will give students a little extra time if they are not finished.,  fun activity - African Country Word Search, Homework -  Deadly Desert Handout - 1-10 questions
Thursday - Focus - watch cnn.student news, go over Deadly Desert Handout 1-10 questions, grade and discuss, watch Mysterious Desert Ecosystems - Jeff Corwin (take notes), review Climate Regions with students (final test Monday - 20 questions)
Friday - Journal (October 25) - What do you like most about Halloween?  What is your favorite activity that goes along with this special day?, Do you like to dressing up in a costume? (5 to six complete sentences minimum), Climate Region Jeopardy Class Actitivity  Homework - Study for final Climate Region Test - Monday
* We are trying to get back on track, but the MEAP kind of threw us off.  We will be talking about Ecosystems next week and we will be  starting  our African Desert Animal Project next week.

Thursday - Focus Question - What is a climate zone?  Which climate zone do we live in?, watch video on Weather and Climate (19 minutes - discovery education.com) 12 sentence fact sheet do at end of video, go over climate zones in class - notes - discuss each one, Quiz on Friday - Climate Regions (12 questions)
Friday - Focus -  Study for climate zone quiz, start Climate Zone Map Activity (markers needed)

Monday - Focus Question - What do we think are some of the cause of global warming?,  Go over Earth's Changing Climate Worksheet 1-5, We will do a review on Latitude and Longitude.  We will work on a worksheet as a class and locate 20 places using latitude and longitude.
Tuesday - MEAP Testing 1 and 2 Hours  I will only see 3-6 period for 7th grade social studies.  We will be reviewing geography map skills.  We will be reviewing physical world regions and political world regions
Wednesday MEAP Testing 1 and 2 Hours I will only see 3-6 periods for 7th grade social studies.  We will be reviewing geography map skills.  We will be reviewing the skill of using scale with maps.
Thursday MEAP Testing 1 and @ Hours  I will only see 3-6 periods for 7th grade social studies.  Will be reviewing geography maps skills.  I will work on students' understanding of Earth's Movement in Relation to the Sun, and Zones of Latitude.
*Eastern Hemisphere Physical Map Test has been move to Monday, October 14 because of MEAP testing and the Professional Development Day.  Please study for this test.
